Mahindra which recently confirmed the Quanto will be officially launching the car on 20th of September. The Mahindra Quanto is a sub 4-metre car to which tax subsidies are applicable. The Mahindra Quanto is based on the Ingenio platform which has been tried and testing on the Xylo. Due to the fact that Quanto derives lots of interior as well as exterior features from the Xylo – it was initially nicknamed the Mini Xylo.
The Mahindra Quanto will be powered by the newly developed a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder engine producing a power of maximum power of 100 BHP and 240 Nm of torque. Quanto that is expected to go head on with the Premier Rio will be launched in five-seater and seven-seater variants giving it a edge over the competition. The seven-seater variant of Quanto will have side-facing jump seats in the third row which can serve as the luggage space when folded.
