
Renault’s new offering, the Scala is a C-segment sedan that is nothing but a refreshed and re-badged Nissan Sunny. This is the second car that Renault is launching of its sister brand, Nissan starting with the Pulse. And now with the Scala, Renault has a complete line-up of cars starting with a hatch; the Pulse, entry level sedan; the Scala, entry level SUV; the Duster, a premium sedan; the Fluence and a premium SUV; the Koleos.
The Scala is refreshed on the outside with the new grille, sporty hexagonal bumper and a smoked headlamp cluster on the front. Whereas the major change lies at the rear with a straight rear boot lid that also sports a thick chrome strip that run along either of the tail lamps and a new stylish tail lamp cluster that all add to the premium feel of the car. The Scala also gets a new sporty set of alloys. Overall, the Scala is a premium looking Sunny with a luxury tinge to the exterior treatments.

The interiors resemble that of the Sunny with no changes in the inside except for a lighter shade of brown on the dashboard plastic unlike the grey plastic in the Sunny that gives it a premium feel in the cabin and the rear seats get adjustable headrests.
The Scala will be offered with Renault’s ‘Complete Care’ service package, which includes a 2+2 years/80,000km warranty and 24/7 Roadside Assistance.
The Scala is available in both petrol and diesel like the Nissan Sunny, The petrol Scala is powered by a 1.5 ltr engine that produces 99PS @ 6000rpm with a peak torque of 134nm @4000rpm and the diesel is powered by the standard tried and tested 1.5Ltr K9K dCi diesel engine that produces 86PS of power@ 3750rpm with a peak power of 200Nm @2000rpm. Both the engines are mated to a 5-spped manual transmission.

The petrol mill is expected to return a fuel efficiency figure of 16.96kmpl whereas the diesel mill is expected to return 21.4kmpl both ARAI certified.
