Skoda Octavia was the first offering from the Czech based automaker in India way back in 2001. Rumours of Skoda bringing back its flagship have been doing the rounds for a while now.
Skoda will be position above the only C segment offering Rapid, but right below the D segment laura. The new skoda will based on the newly develiped MQB platform from the volkswagen group that allows them to develop a wide variety of front-engined models using the same set of components.
New Skoda Octavia is expected to offered in liftback and wagon body styles. The petrol variant of the Skoda Octavia will be powered by the 1.4 TSI petrol with cylinder deactivation technology. With diesel being pwered by the 1.6L TDI. Expect both the engines to be mated with a 5-speed manual and a dual clutch gearbox.
