Mahindra Mini Xylo which is possibly the most photographed car during its testing phase has been named the Mahindra Quanto. Team BHP has uncovered the photo of this production version of the car as we near the launch during the festive season.
The Mahindra Quanto, as expected measures under 4-metres in length making it eligible for lower excise duties offered to small car. The spare wheel has been mounted on the tail gate as seen in spy pics before too. Mahindra Quanto is definitely not a head turner and Mahindra has been able to cut costs by keeping the looks of the Quanto similar to the Xylo. The Quanto is speculated to carry a starting price of around Rs. 5-6 lakhs.
The Mahindra Quanto will be a 7-seater with the third row of seats being side folding type and with the length being under 4 meters, the third row will not have enough space for comfortable seating. The Interiors on the Mahindra Quanto will be the same as on the facelift Xylo where-in the Mahindra Quanto top end model will boast of features such as Bluetooth connectivity, reverse parking sensors, 6-spoke alloy wheels, audio controls on steering wheel, dual airbags, ABS and armrest for first two rows.
Mahindra will offer the Quanto with its newly developed a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder diesel engine. The vehicle will compete with the Premier Rio. If Mahindra excels are quality, the only drawback of the Premier Rio, then expect Mahindra Quanto to race ahead in coming few months.
