Honda India introduces a new automatic variant in the likes of the S trim that is better known as S MT in the manual transmission of its best selling sedan, the Honda City at Rs 9.09 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The new Automatic Honda City S AT gets all the goodies available on the manual S variant, including beige interiors, fabric seats, alloy wheels, chrome dash inserts and steering mounted controls besides paddle shifts like the higher priced V AT models.
Honda has been struggling with sales in India due to lack of a diesel engine and higher input costs due to rise in US Dollar which was once the number one in the C-segment has consistently lost ground to Hyundai and Volkwagen.
At Rs 9.09 lakh the Honda City Automatic undercuts the petrol automatic variants of the Verna (Rs 9.93 lakh) and Vento (Rs 9.39 lakh) by a significant margin. Other options for customers looking to buy a automatic car in India are the Ford Fiesta, Maruti Suzuki SX4 and the Skoda Rapid.
