Renault India has officially launched the first Compact SUV in India, the Duster at a starting price of Rs. 7.19 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base petrol variant. The Duster is the first compact SUV to roll out in the Indian market however Ford EcoSport was the first to accounce a car in this segment.
The Duster will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options that brings in the versatility for the buyers with a wide variety of choice to choose from with seven variants in offer. Technically there is one petrol engine and two diesel engines available with the Duster.
The Renault Duster’s 1.6-litre petrol produces 104 PS, 145 N, the 1.5-litre 85 PS diesel produces 85 PS, 200 Nm while the 1.5-litre 110 PS diesel produces 110 PS, 248 Nm. In terms of fuel efficiency, the petrol engine is believed to return 13.24 km/l where as the 85PS diesel and 110 PS diesel engines are believed to return 20.46 km/l and 19.01 km/l respectively as certified by ARAI.
