With the launch of the fuel efficient motorcycle, the Dream Yuga, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) is confident that the motorcycle will win over many commuters in the country and hence is prepared to avoid the mad rush at service centres by doubling the number or service centers in India.
HMSI’s strategy comes from the hunger to Bajaj and Hero for the top position in 2-wheelers by 2020 and the confidence for achieving the target comes in from the efficient R&D and subsequently good line-up of products.
HMSI is now planning to double its showroom cum service centers to 2000 by March 2013 which currently accounts at 1000 such outlets. HMSI is also planning to setup new dealerships near the existing Hero and Bajaj showrooms.
Honda has only 15% of the market share in the Indian 2-wheeler market, while Hero has 4000 outlets and 45% market share and Bajaj Auto has a 20% market share which Honda plans to acquire the major shar by 2020 and we wish Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India the best to avieve the target.
