Bajaj Auto has launched the Discover 100 4G – its new Discover 100 variant. The most noticeable variation is the withdrawal of a gear from the Discover 100, and a slight revision in price (reduced by Rs. 1900/-). Bajaj Auto has discontinued its 5 gear-version with an aim to boost sales volumes.
This move could well be Bajaj Auto’s attempt to remain number 2 in monthly sales – a position it regained from Honda. Bajaj would concentrate to aggrevate Discover’s performance in the commuter segment, especially with Honda’s forthcoming Dream Yuga.
In a market that is serious about mileage, the Discover 100 seems to be one of the most favourable options. The Discover 100 is powered by a 94.38cc, DTS-SI 2.0 engine, producing peak power of 7.5 BHP at 7500 RPM, and a torque of 7.85 Nm at 5000 RPM.
