India’s largest auto maker Maruti Suzuki is going to launch the new version of its popular sedan Swift DZire in the first week of february. The new car will be built on a sub 4 meter platform making it a candidate for exemption of 10 percent excise duty, there by reducing its price marginally.
Maruti Suzuki India Managing Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) Mayank Pareek said, “We have invested a lot on the new DZire. It is on a brand new platform. There are at least 150 new features, compared to the existing DZire and it is unlikely that the new one will be priced less.”
The new DZire will be available in a 1.2 litre petrol engine and a 1.3 litre engine diesel. An automatic transmission variant will also be available in the petrol version.
Currently the DZire has a waiting period of 3-4 months and the company is looking to address the issue by gradually increasing the output of the Manesar plant where the new Dzire will be manufactured. The company has not yet finalized the pricing of the new DZire, so guys keep your fingers crossed!
