India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki unveiled its multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) Ertiga. Already a leader in small car segment, Maruti aims to establish its presence in other segments with the launch of Ertiga.
Ertiga is a compact seven seater MPV that’s expected to hit the markets in April. Company has not made any comments on price and variants of this car yet.
Under the hood, the Ertiga will be powered by a new K14 petrol and a super turbo DDiS diesel engine. The K14 engine develops 94PS of power at 6000rpm and 130Nm of torque at 4000rpm. DDiS is a1.3 Litre engine producing 88PS of power and 200Nm of torque.
The MPV is believed to deliver an impressive fuel consumption figures of 20.77 km per litre in the diesel engine and 16.02 km per litre in the petrol.
India’s second largest automaker Hyundai also entered the MPV segment with Hexa Space which is set to roll out in February and will directly compete with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
