It was just a while ago that we brought to you the news that in January Fiat India will be launching updated versions of Linea and Punto.
Fiat which has made its presence in India in a joint venture with Tata Motors chose to go in for the upgrades because after having received excellent initial response sales numbers for both these cars were on a decline of late. New features on the Fiat Linea include rain sensing wipers, auto switch on and off headlamps and fully refreshed interiors. None of the competitors in the segment offer these features too.
The Punto too gets upgrades like enhanced ground clearance, audio system and central locking in the base variant, fabric seats, carpets etc. Punto has been a sensible buy all along but now it will definitely look like a very enticing buy.
On the price front new Fiat Linea comes priced at Rs 6.83 – 7.81 lakh. The diesel Linea comes priced at Rs 7.84 – 8.84 lakh, while the Emotion variant costs Rs 9.19 lakh.
The Fiat Punto petrol costs between Rs 4.50-6.54 lakh for the petrol variant. The diesel will be priced Rs 5.48 lakh – Rs 6.71 lakh.
For the complete Fiat experience Fiat also announced that they will open 20 to 25 Fiat Caffes in 2012 all across India.
