After a long wait Honda will finally launch the facelifted version of its current sedan segment leader, the City on 14th of December. The launch was first scheduled for November and got postponed due to the floods that hit in Thailand which also disrupted production of the curent City, Jazz and Brio, added to the pile up in the waiting period. Honda fans now have something to rejoice with the launch on the New Honda City in a week’s time.
Honda is offering discounts of upto Rs. 1Lakh on the current City to clear the stock ahead of the launch on the new City and when the demand was high, Thailand was cursed with the flood disaster and hence Honda started facing production issues. Invrariably the waiting period for the Jazz and the Brio started to extended to upto 8 months. Now with the launch of the new City, looks like Honda has sorted out its productions issues which otherwise would have hit the sales which is not a good sign for Honda since they are experiencing dip in sales since September.
The New Honda City facelift will look more or less similar to the predecessor, gets new bumpers, front grill, rear bumper and new tail lamps. A new feature that the City boasts of is the ECO indicator indicator on the dashboard that will show the driver how gentle his right foot should be inorder to extract good fuel economy. Technically the city remains the same without any changes to its 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine with both manual and automatic transmission.
With the competition at its peak, Honda cannot afford to increase its prices else its sure of losing out in the market with no diesel options unlike its competitors.
