Toyota unveiled its 7th generation Camry and is expected to be launched in India by August 2012. The new Camry will be showcased at the Indian Expo followed by its launch in August. Camry is known for its long and sleek stance that competed with cars like the Honda Accord, Nissan Teana, Skoda Laura and the Volkswagen Passat and was a class leader globally with tight competition against the Accord.
The new Camry maintains the same long and sleek stance in terms of design but with a modern touch. The front design of the car looks very modern and appealing with the chrome strip along the big Toyota logo. Boxy headlamp cluster is on the Camry too, looks like Toyota is up for a signature design statement with the boxy headlamp cluster. The same design headlamp will be seen on the Fortuner as well as the Innova.Another addition to the front design is the fog lamps which is new to the Toyota family. The rear also has some distinctive changes with clear tail lamps that widen till the side of the rear department and a wide chrome strip that touches the tail lamp at either sides like in the front is an elegant touch.
The interiors look upmarket and modern in terms of the dash layout and design hence giving it a luxurios feel to the passengers. There is a 6.1 inch LCD screen that gives the dash trim a modern look. The car boasts of latest comfort features like music system with USB and AUX, bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio controls and the cabin is well insulated to minimise the wind and road noise that drools in the car.
The Camry is powered by the same 2.4Ltr four cylinder VVT-I petrol engine that delivers 167bhp @6000rpm asvailable in a 5-speed manual and automatic transmission.
